Khalifa University-Beijing Institute of Technology Team ‘Fly Eagle’
We are thrilled to announce that our team is one of the top 5, shortlisted from 14 semi-finalist international teams, for the Maritime Grand Challenge, part of the US$3.25-million Mohammed Bin Zayed International Robotics Competition (MBZIRC) series. More than 50 teams originally participated in the Maritime Grand Challenge that involved a heterogeneous collaboration among unmanned aerial and surface vehicles (UAVs and USVs), requiring them to perform complex navigation and manipulation tasks in a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-denied marine environment. The 45-member KU-BIT Fly Eagle team received US$100,000 reward for reaching the final stage, while performing well in the Simulation Phase, and entered the final Demonstration Phase.
